In the match of the third round of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina for handball players, Bosna Visoko was defeated by Zrinjski in Mostar with a score of 28:30, after leading 14:13 at halftime.
It was a match ahead of which there was a secret hope that we could return with at least one point, and for almost the entire game it looked like we were right there and very close—but when it mattered most, we fell short.
To be fair, although it is very ungrateful to talk about it, the refereeing criteria of the officiating duo Babić-Bogdanić was completely inconsistent. Anyone who thinks otherwise is invited to rewatch the match, but nevertheless, it is certain that we could and should have done better.
The team must now pull together because there is no time for regret—Gračanica comes to Visoko this Saturday, and we must focus all our strength on that game.
As for the clash in Mostar, it started with the home team leading 1:0, 2:1, and 3:2. In the 8th minute, Pandžić scored to give us our first lead at 4:3, and Ombaša scored a minute later to make it 5:3. We then had attacks to extend the lead to plus three or four, but instead of taking a decisive lead, Zrinjski equalized again in the 13th minute (7:7). In the 20th minute, we restored a two-goal advantage, leading 10:8. In the 26th minute, it was 12:10 for Bosna, and two minutes later, Ombaša scored to make it a three-goal game at 13:10. But instead of calmly bringing the first half to a close, we fell into our own trap of technical errors and forced shots. Zrinjski capitalized on this with a 3:1 run, leaving them trailing by only one goal at the break. Bosna led 14:13.
In the first two minutes of the second half, Zrinjski scored twice to take the lead—their first since the seventh minute—making it 15:14 for the "Noblemen" (Plemići). By the 34th minute, we regained the lead at 16:15, and in the 38th minute, it was 18:16 for us. Zrinjski bounced back, equalized, and then took a 23:21 lead with 14 minutes remaining. Our bench called a timeout, but all it yielded was another Zrinjski goal for 24:21. With seven and a half minutes left, Zrinjski went up 27:23, and it seemed like everything was over. In the 57th minute, playing with a man advantage, we had an attack to cut the deficit to one, but we handed the ball straight to the opponent, and Zrinjski scored on the counter-attack to make it 28:25. We managed to reduce the gap to 29:28 from a penalty throw at the start of the final minute, but the home team then used up nearly the entire minute on their final attack, scoring through Prevšić for 30:28, which was the final score.
